Anderson Plumbing, Heating & Air San Diego
Rip-Off Report
San Diego March 5, 2010
Service Request: I had a backed-up drain in my El Cajon home. Upon searching the yellow-pages I located a full page ad under plumbers that advertised "$99 fix any drain" from Anderson Heating & Plumbing San Diego. I then called and set-up an serviceman to visit my home.
Problem: When the Anderson Plumbing service man arrived he quoted me $260.00 to fix the drain. Obviously after reading the yellow-book ad advertising "$99 fix any drain" I declined the service. Here is the kicker, the service man from Anderson Plumbing still charged me over $40 for the "house-call". Basically this company made $40 quick bucks for a 10 minute visit to my home. At this rate they would be making $240 an hour making house-calls based on false-advertising and people setting-up house calls hoping for a good deal.
Solution: When I contacted Anderson Plumbing San Diego, the phone rep was very nice and apologized for the false advertisement and said they received numerous complaints about the fraudulent ad however she never offered to refund my $40 service fee based on this false advertising.
Recommendation: I would recommend anyone in the San Diego area with plumbing, heating, or air conditioning problems NOT call Anderson Plumbing & Heating! Overall they admitted to the false advertisement and still charged me a service fee for doing nothing and didn't offer to refund me for my time and trouble.
UPDATE: I was contacted by Anderson Plumbing a couple weeks after I registered my complaint and was given a full refund for the service call.
